Defence Secy Gupta applauds ammunition production at OFK

DEFENCE Secretary (Production) Ashok Kumar Gupta (IAS) applauded high standards put in practice in quality and quantity of ammunition production at Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK), one of the significant establishments of Ordnance Factories. Ongoing advancements and upgradation will definitely bring status of ‘6 Sigma’ for OFK. Defence Secretary (Production) Ashok Kumar Gupta, accompanied by Ordnance Factory Board Member (M&C) Sunil Kumar Chourasia (IOFS) and Ordnance Factory Khamaria, Senior General Manager, A K Agrawal, was on a two-day visit of Ordnance Factories in Jabalpur. Ordnance Factory Khamaria Joint General Manager (Administration) H K Packra informed that senior officers had a schedule of three hours visit to the factory but they were highly influenced with production of ammunition and spent four hours in the factory.
The Defence Secretary started visit from exhibition hall and conducted inspection of several units in the factory including engineering section, explosives, filling, fuse filling and SPR sections. Officers witnessed production of ammunition used in tanks and inspected facilities in buildings of new project MANGO and sought information about newly started production of Ariel Bomb.
Defence Secretary Ashok Kumar Gupta expressed his satisfaction on quantity and quality of ammunitions production and also sought information about security and safety arrangements. Senior officer was briefed about ongoing advancements and technological upgradation in the factory.
Officers sought information about proceedings of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and directed to continue the campaign as a routine practice. Visitors expressed their satisfaction over high standards of production works and congratulated factory administration in their notes in visitors’ diary.
