Four booked for trying to extort Rs 10,000

NANDANVAN Police on Friday booked four armed goons for attempting to extort Rs 10,000 from a woman shopkeeper after threatening to kill her son and husband.
The accused have been identified as Dadu alias Nikhil Meshram (24), Rahul Kharpude (26), both residents of Hiwri Nagar, and two of their accomplices. Around 6 pm on December 20, Nandini Suresh Pisey (37) was at her steel utensils’ shop. Carrying swords and knives, the accused came to her shop.
They demanded Rs 10,000 for allowing her to run her business. The goons threatened to hill her son and husband if she failed to pay ‘hafta.’
Following Nandini’s complaint, cops registered an offence under Sections 387, 143, 147, 148, 149, 506(b) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 4/25 of Arms Act against the goons.
