Police make all arrangements to ring in New Year peacefully

JABALPUR police have made elaborate arrangements to maintain law and order for New Year celebrations and to avert any untoward incident. Additional security arrangements will be made to avoid anti-social activities and drunken driving in the city during New Year celebrations. Superintendent of Police Mahendra Singh Sikarwar informed that additional police deployment will be done at main squares and streets in the city.
Police will ensure vehicle checking at 20 check points with breath analysers for avoiding drunken driving. In case of finding drunken driving, driving license of violator will be cancelled. For this, additional police personnel along with 41 mobile vehicles and patrolling teams will keep vigilant eye throughout the city. Fixed pickets will be installed at main squares while patrolling teams will conduct rigorous patrolling in the city.
Police personnel will be deployed in civil dress to check anti-social activities in the city. Owners of hotels and clubs have been directed already to follow necessary norms and end parties by 12:30 am.
Organisers were instructed to avoid use of DJs and take permission for use of maximum two sound boxes and deploying their volunteers for parking arrangements and security measures. Organisers should ensure entry of only known persons at programme venues to avoid existence of anti-social elements. Besides this, Bomb Detect and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams will conduct random checking of New Year celebration venues. Superintendent of Police Mahendra Singh Sikarwar made an appeal to the residents to follow directions of police and administration to avoid inconvenience during New Year celebrations and prevent any untoward incident to maintain law and order arrangements in the city.
