‘CA students should study with zeal to attain goal’

NAGPUR branch of WICASA of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), recently organised youth festival ‘Chorus’ for CA students at Amrut Bhawan, Sitabuldi. It was attended by more than 300 CA students. CA Satish Sarda, Past Chairman of Nagpur Branch, was the chief guest. CA Prafulla Chhajed, Central Council Member and CA Abhijit Kelkar, RCM, were the guests of honours.

CA Kirit Kalyani, Chairman of WICASA, extended his thanks to the dignitaries present and students for extending their help during the entire year for ensuring most satisfying WICASA tenure as a Chairman. He said that for the students the event may be a two days festival, but for him as a Chairman, the entire year was like a youth fest. After 16 years in the profession, he was able to revive his student life and enjoy the moments of joy and youthfulness.

He welcomed the guests for gracing the WICASA event and the students at large. He said, “Students should enjoy the fest to the fullest and ensure to retain the same zeal and energy till the goal of becoming a CA is achieved.” Tricolour bands were also distributed amongst the students and members present.

CA Satish Sarda, Past Chairman, Nagpur branch, revived his memories as WICASA Chairman and after duly inaugurating the event, conveyed best wishes for WICASA team.

CA Abhijit Kelkar, Past Chairman, Nagpur and the RCM, was happy to find the students ready with various interesting games. He wished the event a grand success.
CA Prafulla Chhajed, CCM, graced the occasion with his presence and carried out effective dialogue with the bright students of the city.

WICASA team comprising of Palkesh Khandelwal, Harman Raj Kaur, Itisha Bahri, Yash Budhwani, Suraj Madan and Shubham Jain, ensured due success to the event. WICASA team with the due support of more than 100 student volunteers, worked for about 20 days to prepare for the mega show ‘Chorus’. The fashion show ‘Phoenix’ enabled the audience to witness the persona of the CA students. Students set the stage on fire with their rocking ramp walks, performances, personality contest and much awaited ‘Mr and Miss WICASA 2016’ competition. CA Venkatesh Chari, CA Kavita Loya, CA Swaroopa Wazalwar, CA Nitin Alshi, CA Vinita Bahri and CA Nikita Chawla, lent their experienced judging skills to help WICASA decide the deserving Mr and Miss WICASA 2016. Devashish Mahadule and Miss Apeksha Gundecha were adjudged as the deserving winners.

CA Kirit Kalyani, Chairman WICASA said that the cultural nite ‘Dhanak’, was in real sense like icing on the cake. The grand cultural nite was graced by the presence of Past President of ICAI CA Jaydeep Shah and CA Julfesh Shah, former Vice-Chairman of WIRC. IPS Sandeep Tamgadge, who happens to be the Advisor to CM of Nagaland, based at Delhi, graced the occasion.He extended due complements to CA Kirit Kalyani, Chairman of WICASA, for the successful all round activities.
