Jeevan Shala project launched at BSSS

DEPARTMENT of Social Work of the Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) launched one of their most awaited projects Jeevan Shala (life school). The main aim of the project is to impart life skill training and instill moral values among the school going and drop-out slum children.


The project is inaugurated by Dr Fr John PJ, Principal BSSS College. In his message, he dedicated this social venture to the society and thanked all associated professional agencies for their commitment towards this project. He expressed wishes for lasting impact of this project. Associate Director World Vision of India Varghese Jacob and Fr Jonedios Toppo, Director Asha Niketan Welfare Centre were also present for this auspicious event. World Vision of India is technical and knowledge partner for this special venture by sharing curriculum of life skill education. The social work students of BSSS College are vested with the responsibility of managing the day-to-day activities of this project thereby getting an exposure to execute various field action projects. The college in its quest for promoting human service along with earn while you learn concept through this noble venture. Through the project children from 6 to 15 years of age will learn personality development. Classes under Jeevan Shala will be conducted at two places. Two co-ordinators of the project are ex-students of the college and five social work students.


There are 55 students from Durga Nagar, Vishwakarma Nagar and Janata Colony registered for the class. Classes in BSSS will be organised from 2 pm to 5 pm where they will learn personality development, cultural activities, sports etc.
