Mumbai’s Pradhan wins 1st prize in photography expo

Pratik Pradhan from Mumbai won the first prize of Rs 25,000 in the national-level wildlife photography competition-cum-exhibition organised by Shrushti Paryavaran Mandal at Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, from Tuesday.

Sarang Naik, also from Mumbai, bagged the second prize of Rs 15,000 while Saurav Mandal from Kolkata received the third prize of Rs 10,000. Hardik Pal, Jamnagar, Dipak Mandlik, Badlapur and Kallot Mukherjee, Singur in West Bengal, got consolation prizes.

The mandal organised the exhibition in memory of Raju Harkare, a wildlife lover. As many as 135 photographers sent 700 entries and of them the organisers displayed selected 78 photographs on wildlife. The exhibition will remain open up to December 12 from 10.30 am to 8 pm.
G Mallikarjun, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Nagpur, inaugurated the exhibition and gave away prizes to winners.
Gopalrao Thosar, noted environmentalist, Sachin Rehpal, Divisional Manager, Gorewada zoo project, Umesh Dhotekar, Range Forest Officer, Kundan Hate, Honorary Wildlife Warden, Sanjay Deshpande, President of mandal, Vinit Arora, Secretary, and others were present at the programme.
