Thief targets Kali Mandir, decamps with money

IN YET another temple break-in incident, unidentified thief took away money from donation box of ancient Kali Mandir near Ram Mandir under jurisdiction of Ghamapur police station in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
According to Ghamapur police, Rajesh Tiwari, priest of Kali Mandir, Ghamapur informed that he had locked the temple on Monday night and reached home. On Tuesday morning, he reached the temple when he saw that the lock of entrance gate of the temple was missing. He entered the temple and found that the donation box was empty. He informed that unidentified thief had entered the temple by jumping over the boundary wall and broke the lock of entrance door. Thief entered the temple and took away money from donation box. Learning about the incident, devotees and residents in large numbers gathered at the temple premises and charged lethargic working of police and mismanaged law and order arrangements in the area. Receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and started investigations.
Police have registered a case of theft, while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the thief.
