National Sub-Jr Softball: Chhattisgarh champion for 2nd time in a row

Chhattisgarh has become national champion for second consecutive year in the Sub-Junior National Softball Championship (boys) after the state sub-junior team defeated Maharashtra in the final of the championship held at Cuttack (Odisha) on Wednesday. The state team won the final of the 29th national softball championship by a convincing margin of 07-02. It is to be mentioned, the state had won the national championship held last year in Aurangabad (Maharashtra).
After losing the toss, Chhattisgarh team was invited by its opponent for hitting. The team took 04-00 lead in the first innings itself with Amit Nagdev and Animesh Tandi scoring for the team. Chhattisgarh’s poor fielding in the second innings allowed the opponent to take away two points.
The score remained 07-02 till the end and it went in favour of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh had lost only one match in the
Coach Deepak Sharma played a crucial role in the state team’s winning. Ashutosh, Manish, Rudranarayan, Amit, Raj, Vimal, Ajay were in the playing team. Similarly, Dushyant, Keshav, Gayaprasad, Rameshwar, Bheemesh, Danis, Himanshu, Gaurav, and Rajeev were the other members of the team.
Coach Chandrashekhar Puri Goswami, Pradeep Sahi and manager Jagdish Mahanand congratulated the team on the success.
