Rally to mark Electrical Safety Week evokes good response

Electrical Safety Week is being observe by Maharashtra Government across the state from January 11 to 17. The week is being observed to generate awareness among people about the consequences of negligence of safety measures and safe handling of electrical appliances, in order to reduce electrical accidents.

The drive was inaugurated by organising a rally at Kasturchand Park by Electrical Inspector, Superintending Engineer, Electrical Inspection Circle, Nagpur, Electrical Contractors Association. Electrical Inspector Umakant Dhote briefed about electrical safety week. MSEDCL Chief Engineer focussed on electrical safety. Editor of Lokmat Samachar Vikas Mishra; SE Dinesh Khonde, Regional Director of MSEDCL Prasad Reshme spoke about electrical safety. Reshme flagged off the rally, which moved through Ram Zula, Agrasen Chowk, Telephone Exchange Square, Jagnade Chowk, Great Naag Road, Baidyanath Square, Ajni, Lokmat Chowk, Zero Mile and back. Various government and private organisations participated in the rally.

Various programmes have been planned during the week to generate awareness among people.
