Sania Sahu, a 11-yr-old cop for a day

A 11-year-old Sania Sahu wanted to be police for a day and her wish was fulfilled by Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range, Pradeep Gupta on her birthday, on Wednesday.
Dressed in Khaki with a cap, the lethally ill hailing from Mathpurena (Raipur) Sania Sahu occupied a chair in the office of IG in the presence of IG Gupta itself.
SP Dr Sanjiv Shukla and other police personnel, who were also present on the occasion, encouraged the child.
She was awarded the post of Inspector for a day, thanks to the generosity of the police who tried to bring some smiles on Sania’a face by fulfilling her childhood dream to be a police officer. To be mentioned, Sania is suffering from kidney disease and blindness. The father of Sania met Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjiv Shukla and expressed his daughter’s desire. He informed the SP that Sania had celebrated her previous birthdays in Doctor and Advocate attires which give her immense pleasure.
On the request of the father, Dr Shukla conveyed the matter to IGP, who in turn immediately decided to fulfill the dream of the child.
Due to some engagement on January 14 it was decided to celebrate the day in advance i.e. on January 11. A special uniform for the girl was stitched and a cap of her size was ordered.
At about 11 am on Wednesday she was escorted to the IG office in official vehicle. After which she celebrated her birthday by cutting the cake in presence of IGP Gupta, Dr Shukla, Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Vijay Agrawal, other police officials and her parents. She interacted with police control room over wireless radio set.
Her video was uploaded on police facebook at about 1 pm and by 8 pm over 21,067 persons viewed the video and appreciated the same. At about 5 pm she returned to her home.
IGP Raipur Range Pradeep Gupta informed that the girl was struggling with her life as both her kidneys got damaged and she needs some helping hand for which he decided to fulfill her dream. As per information after the matter came to notice of public, people came forward to extend her financial help for treatment.
