2 minute halt to Sanghmitra Exp at Maihar

Maihar station occupies an important place in Indian railway network in backdrop of Holy Shrine of Maa Sharda. Reportedly, devotees in large numbers across the country throng Maihar to offer their prayer before the holy shrine throughout the year and during the festivities of Navaratri, large number of people visit here.
The much awaited demand of people from southern India and Patna from east to stop train numbered 12295/12296 Bangalore city-Patliputra-Bangalore City Sanghmitra Superfast at Maihar station has been conceded by the Railway administration. A six-month experimental halt of 2 minutes came into effect from January 2, 2017.
The train numbered 11295, on way to Patliputra, would stop at Maihar station of Jabalpur division of WCR at 20.33 hours, while 12296 on way to Bangalore city the train would stop at 05.38 hours for two minute duration.
According to information, public demand to stop train numbered 12295/12296 Bangalore City-Patliputra-Bangalore City Sanghmitra Superfast at Maihar station has been finally conceded by the Railway administration. The experimental stoppage of two minutes duration came into effect from 2.1.2017. In its maiden stop at Maihar station, the occasion would record the presence of Member of Parliament Satna Ganesh Singh along with Anand Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Jabalpur and other elected representatives from Maihar Assembly segment.
As per programme schedule, for the maiden stop of both up and down superfast train, it is informed that the sitting MP would flag off the train after it stops at Maihar station on Tuesday at Maihar station.
When contacted, Anand Kumar, Senior DCM Jabalpur endorsed the stoppage of Superfast train at Maihar station. He said sitting MP Satna Ganesh Singh would be present on the occasion. The stoppage of the train has been given on experimental basis for duration of six months.
