Shopkeepers are simply denying to change the money for purchasing small thing. As it is celebration time for New Year arrival, people are facing acute shortage of small notes such as Rs 100, Rs 50, Rs 20 and Rs 10. “I tried all dozens of ATM in MP Nagar but did not get Rs 100 note. Finally I borrowed snacks from a shopkeeper in evening hours as no one was giving change of Rs 500.”
It may be noted that after demonetisation orders, large number of people queued at bank branches to get cash amount. People lining up outside of ATM are feared that machine will run out of cash. Many ATMs are still out of cash and few machines are temporarily out of service. Few ATM providing cash to people usually get out of cash within one or two hours. Banks have been advised to offer separate queue for people with disabilities and senior citizens. In addition to this, business of black money is quite active in market and police team has been asked to be active in city. Bhopal police released an alert regarding issue and asked to keep an eye on agents. However Rs 2,000 notes are being distributed by banks, people are not getting its change in market.
