All long distance trains via routes of Mumbai, Delhi and Howrah are booked for entire January month and passengers are facing difficulties to get tickets under Tatkal scheme too and now many of them are in dilemma regarding their journey on train.

‘Actually I have not done the reservation in advance because I thought I would not face any difficulty to get reserved ticket of train in January because owing to examinations in February, trains would not face crowd rush but I surprised to find that in January too, entire AC Three and Two tiers of trains are booked and in sleeper too, it would become difficult for me to get ticket during tatkal scheme too’ said Nirbhay Pandit, sales executive.

Most of the regular visitors complained of not getting reserved tickets owing to heavy rush of passengers in all reservation compartments of long distance trains via south, north, Mumbai and Howrah routes. In fact, in some of the trains, waiting list for reservation in AC-III tier and sleeper is touched to over 500.

‘We are in dilemma to attend the study workshop in University of Indore as there is no ticket available in trains via Bhopal route so I decided to go there via airways’ stated Dr G R Sinha, IT Professional and educationist.

When contacted, officials of South East Central Railway also admitted there is huge rush of passengers in all reserved compartments of long distance trains.
