Swami Akhileshwaranand sheds light on significance of Narmada Seva Yatra

NAMAMI Devi Narmade Narmada Seva Yatra accorded a grand welcome on its last stage in Bargi assembly constituency at village Bijauri on Sunday. A mammoth gathering of villagers followed by groups of women carrying Kalash on their heads welcomed the religious procession in a traditional manner. Speaking on the occasion, Mandla and Jabalpur In-charge Swami Mahamandaleshwar Akhileshwaranand Maharaj informed about significance of Narmada Seva Yatra and vision of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
He informed that the procession was inaugurated at the origin of Goddess river Narmada at Amarkantak on December 11. He termed the river as lifeline of Madhya Pradesh as it provides water for irrigation and drinking. He urged villagers to plant fruit saplings at their farms at the banks of Narmada and avoid merging of drains and nullahs into the river to ensure cleanliness and checking environment hazard.
Villagers were informed that they will be given annual compensation of Rs 20,000 for plantation at per hectare land at the banks of river while the Government will bear expenses of plantation and its maintenance. He also encouraged farmers to avoid dumping garbage into the river and to mark the river pollution-free. Swami Akhileshwaranand informed that the Government will construct toilets and crematoriums in villages to avoid pollution into the river and made an appeal to the villagers to ensure their contribution for success of the campaign. On the occasion, Bhaiyyaji Sarkar, Janpad President, Anurag Singh, Sarpanch, Deepak Rai, Mandal President, Chargavan, Ram Singh, Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Divisional in-charge and Core Group, Director, Shivprasad Malviya, Collector, Mahesh Chandra Choudhary and a large number of public representatives and residents were present. MAA Narmada Sewa Yatra was accorded warm welcome at Chargaon village on Sunday. Swami Akhilesharanand, Samarth Bhaiyyaji Sarkar, Collector Maheshchandra Choudhary and public representatives participated in Maa Narmada Mahaarti. Bhajan sandhya was also performed on the occasion. Addressing the devotees and Parikramavasis at Dharmshala Elak Shri Namra Sagar Maharaj appreciated the decision taken by the Madhya Pradesh Government.
