King Kobra Organisation Youth Force members staged street plays, Dharna etc to generate awareness against use
of nylon manja for flying kites. The members led by Founder President of the organisation Arvindkumar Ratudi have been staging demonstrattions at various sqaures, school, college gates, religious places.
During last ten years more than 400 human and animal lives were lost in Maharashtra due to nylone manja; about 1500 birds were injured and died, about 800 vehicle riders got injured seriously. The nylone threat remain unaffected on trees, electric wire poles for several years and cause huge losses. The organisation has been opposing sale and use of nylone threat for the last ten years.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) passed a resolution on January 12, 2012 to ban nylone manja. The Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court also banned it on March 30, 2015. However, the sale and use could not be stoped completely.
The organisation has demanded that the traders found to be selling nylone manja should be prosecuted for not following the court orders and also for murder. Offense under various sections governing environment protection and pollution prevention may also be registered against them.
The organisation has also made available free ambulance service and treatment and blood if needed.
