CIIMS, SNCI start Young Scientist award in memory of Dr G M Taori

It was a proud moment for Central India Institute of Medical Sciences (CIIMS), Nagpur and Society of Neurochemistry, India (SNCI) to begin a ‘Young Scientist Award’ in the memory of late Dr G M Taori who was himself a renowned Neurophysician and a mentor to many. Every year a prestigious award will be given to a budding scientist during SNCI annual conference, which is held in different parts of India.
Recently, in the 31st Annual Meeting of Society of Neurochemistry, India (SNCI) which was organised at CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad recently on ‘Recent Trends in Neurological and Psychiatric Research’ award was presented to Dr Ranadeep Gogai (for best oral presentation) of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Guwahati for his work on ‘FeTMPyP, a peroxynitrite decomposition catalyst improved functional and behavioral deficits in chronic constriction injury induced neuropathic pain in rats’. The award was presented at the hands of Dr Lokendra Singh, Director, CIIMS, in the presence of Dr Prakashbabu, secretary, SNCI, Dr Rajpal Singh Kashyap, Jt Secreatory, SNCI and Director, Research, CIIMS.
Dr Lokendra Singh and Dr. Rajpal Singh Kashyap attended the conference with their Research team, including Dr. Amit Nayak, Dr Aliabbas Husain, Anuja Kawle and Arti Mishra. Dr Kashyap, thanked the members of CIIMS Management for sponsoring this award.
