NCP to contest polls onits own strength: Patel

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will fight forthcoming elections to Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Zilla Parishad on its own strength by not depending on alliance with Congress, said Praful Patel, NCP Leader and former union minister.

Patel asked the party office-bearers and active workers to
get ready to contest the elections independently and not to wait for any alliance. He was
discussing the issue with the party office-bearers and workers, who accorded a warm welcome to him at Nagpur airpost on Tuesday morning.

Vedprakash Arya, former Corporator, gave information about the organisation and sought his guidance on the forthcoming elections. Patel assured that a meeting would be convened with Anil Deshmukh shortly in the city to discuss strategy.

Dilip Pankule, party leader, welcomed Patel while Prof Devidas Ghode, mahadeorao Fuke, Sopanrao Sirsat, Vikrant Tambe, Bablu Chauhan, Sardar Ravindra Mulla, Sanjay Shewale, Prof S K Singh, Pramod Wankar and others were present.
