Preliminary preparations begin for holding R-Day programme

To carry out preliminary preparations for conducting Republic Day (R-Day), an important meeting was held at Collectorate, on Tuesday.


Collector, Maheshchandra Choudhary presided over the meeting. During the meeting, it was informed that, like every year, this year too, the main function of R-Day would be conducted at Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium. Chief guest would unfurl the national flag at 9 am.


Parade would be presented by SAF, Police Force, NCC, Scout Guide, Gram and Shahar Raksha Samiti. This year, Mohalla Samiti and Traffic Warden would also be participating. The rehearsal of Parade would be started from January 11 and continued till January 23.
It was decided in the meeting that Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jila Panchayat, Harshika Singh should take meeting of Head of Offices and should issue direction for preparing tableaux.


Collector, Choudhary has also issued direction that manager of E-governance should prepare tableaux on the theme of cashless payment. Head of Office would also present theme of their tableaux in the next meeting.
Collector, Choudhary has also directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to prepare calendar or brochure for conducting cultural programme. The rehearsal should be started. The final rehearsal of cultural programme and parade would be conducted on January 24.


During the meeting, responsibility for taking care of freedom fighters has also been handed over to officers from concerned department.


Responsibility has also been given to officers for seating arrangements for VIP, women sectors and other sectors. Responsibility for preparation of invitation card, letter of appreciation has also been delegated to the concerned officers.


Collector, Choudhary has also directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to make medical arrangements during rehearsal and main programme of R-Day. All the cultural programmes should be conducted on patriotic theme.


The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, M S Sikarwar, Commissioner, JMC, Ved Prakash, CEO, Jila Panchayat, Harshika Singh, Additional Collector, Chote Singh, Additional SP, GP Parashar and all SDM and Department heads.
