Traffic cops crack whip against violators

TRAFFIC police and Transport Department conducted vehicle checking drive in various parts of the city and took action against those violating norms. Likewise, traffic police, Weight and Measurement Department teams had a conducted joint checking operation against autos and took action against the violators.
According to the information, traffic police and Transport Department had done vehicle checking at 11 mile trisection of Hoshangabad road and JK Road. Total 95 vehicles were checked. Nine vehicles were found overloaded, two vehicles were caught plying with permit and action was taken against three vehicles for violating the parameters meant for number plate.
Over all, action was taken against 36 vehicles and Rs 1,03,500 were recovered. Six vehicles were also seized.
Along with this, two buses of Vatsalya School of Badi Bareli were found plying without permission. Action was taken against them and fine of Rs 15,000 was imposed on them. Likewise, Traffic Police and Weight and Measurement Department had conducted a joint checking drive against autos at Malviya Nagar trisection. Around 100 autos were checked and 13 autos were confiscated as their seals could not be verified.
Apart from this, helmet checking drive was conducted at main squares, trisections of city including board office square, police control room trisection, Roshanpura square, Kolar Trisection, Bharat Talkies etc on January 1 and January 2 respectively.
Total 563 vehicles were served challans. As many as 385 bike riders were found riding without helmets, 73 car drivers were found driving vehicle without seat belts, 29 vehicles were found at wrong parking place and 64 wheelers were imposed fined for using tinted glasses. Eight traffic norm jumpers were also caught and fined.
Notably, vehicle checking campaign is underway in city from January 1 and will continue till January 15.
