Various organisations remember Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule

The city celebrated birth anniversary of social reformer Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, who opened the doors of education for women by opening a school for women, on Tuesday.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation
Corporator Harshala Sable, former Mayor Archana Dehankar and Women and Child Committee Chief Rashmi Fadnavis paid floral tributes at Savitribai’s statue, at Phule Market. A large number of office bearers and workers of Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Aghadi were present.
MSEDCL had organised a programme at Vidyut Bhavan, here. Regional Executive Engineer Prasad Reshme, Chief Engineer of Nagpur Circle R G Sheikh, Quality Control Officer Kishor Meshram were the guests.
Floral tributes were paid at Savitribai’s portrait. The programme was attended by officers and staff.
Commissionerate and Collectorate
Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar paid floral tributes at his office. Additional Commissioner Arun Unhale, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar, Parag Soman, Assistant Director of Accounts Bhagyashri Jadhav, Tahasildar Shriram Mundhada were present.
Anoop Kumar spoke on life and work of Savitribai Phule.
Resident Deputy Collector KNK Rao paid floral tributes at the Collectorate. Deputy Collector Girish Joshi, Tahasildar Jeevan Bansode, Priyadarshini Borkar and others were present.
Nationalist Congress Party
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLC Prakash Gajbhiye paid floral tributes at Savitribai’s portrait on behalf of the party.
City Unit Secretary Hemant Bhotmange, Sitabuldi Hawkers’ leader Gopi Ambhare, Treasurer Avinash Tirpude, Durgaprasad Kewalramani, Nutan Rewatkar were prominent present.
National People’s Social Organisation
Rajesh Dhengre led the workers of the organisation to pay tributes to Savitribai Phule at her statue in Phule Market.
Corporator Sujata Kombade, Sulabha Shirsat, Dr Vitthal Kombade, Dr Anil Hirekhan, Dr Dilip Sukhdeve, Dr Rajabhau Tanksale, Prashant Bansod, Siddharth Borkar, Castribe leader Arun Gade and others were present.
Navchaitanya De-addiction Centre run by the Foundation celebrated the day with social worker Vaishali Chopde as the guest. Chopde said that women are performing well in all the fields, because of initiative by Savitribai Phule. Varsha Shamkule said that women need emotional support as she has to play different roles, which should be seen with positive attitude.
Counsellor at the Centre Aparna Jalandar conducted the proceedings. Jayashri Mohite proposed a vote of thanks.
Bharatiya Janata Party
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker led by city unit Vice-President Bhushan Dadwe and Anandrao Thaore paid floral tributes at Savitribai’s statue.
Dadwe spoke about work of Savitribai Phule and raised the demand of awarding Bharat Ratna to Savitribai and Jyotiba Phule. The proposal is pending with the Government.
Vijay Harde, Ramesh Kolte, Arvind Jaiswal, Ganesh Bhandarkar, Shriram Rai, Mayuresh Dadwe, Chhaya Durugkar, Kalpana Dabre and others were present.
Bharatiya Nagarik Sangharsha Manch
Social worker Omprakash Somkunwar paid floral tributes at Savitribai’s statue and spoke about her work for educating women. Shubhangi Wankhede also expressed her views. Shalini Kude conducted the proceedings. Jyoti Makde proposed a vote of thanks. Sevabhavi Manda Bahuddeshiya Samaj Vikas Sanstha workers led by Manda Vairagade paid floral tributes at her statue. Alka Shambharkar, Shakuntala Bhogle, Sharda Nikhare, Vijay Wankhede and others were present prominently.
