Social activist Dr Uday Ratre would go on a day-long hunger strike at Budhatalab in Raipur on Sunday to protest against reduction of reservation for scheduled castes.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr Ratre, a resident of Devendra Nagar, claimed that the State Government had reduced reservation to 12 per cent from 16 per cent in Government jobs on the basis of population.
It’s an attempt to snatch rights of people from scheduled castes by reducing reservation in government jobs, he added. Ratre said that the people belonging to scheduled castes would extend their support to his agitation.
