MP tops in health programme being carried out with assistance of Norway

Madhya Pradesh is leading far ahead in Norway-India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) being implemented in Health sector between India and Norway. This was informed to the Minister for Health and Family Welfare Rustam Singh by the Ambassador of Norway Nils Ragnar Kamsvag, Counsellor Health Rannveig Rajendram and Second Secretary Norway Martha. Assistance is being provided by NIPI to Rajasthan, Orissa and Bihar beside Madhya Pradesh.

NIPI to be expanded to other 7 districts: Between India and Norway NIPI was implemented as a pilot programme in 4 districts namely Raisen, Hoshangabad, Betul and Narsinghpur is now being implemented in 12 districts of the state. This is being expanded to other 7 districts owing to its encouraging results. Under the programme, over 70 percent doctors and nurse have been imparted training in these districts. Technical and competency cooperation is being provided by Norway in mother and infant health and nurses training. Good results have been obtained under this. Strengthening of labour room under the mother health, mother and child care after the delivery, care of child at home after discharge from hospital etc. are included in this.

Keeping in view the success of NIPI, the state government has taken a decision to implement family participatory care (FPC) and emergency service for children (ETAT) in other districts of the state. Currently, ETAT in 47 district hospitals and FPC in 14 district hospitals are functioning which has reduced the child mortality rate. Secretary Health Kavindra Kiyawat, Mission Director National Health Mission P Dhanraju, Director Dr BN Chouhan, Dr JL Mishra and senior officers were present on the occasion.

Lauds Obaidulahganj Health Center: Delegation consisting of Counsellor Health Rannveig Rajendram and Second Secretary of Norway Martha led by the Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvag visited community health center Obaidullahganj district Raisen ON Monday. The delegation expressed satisfaction over the activities of labour room and work of nurses.
