Tourists of Indian Origin visit BSP under ‘Know India Programme’

Every year, the foreign embassy of Government of India is organising ‘Know India Programme’ for the people of Indian origin, settled at abroad. In currant year, Chhattisgarh had been selected as the partner state, under which, some 40 to 45 tourists would be facilitated with the escorted visit of famous tourist spots in the state. According to Foreign Secretariat of Government of India, during this arranged visit, it has been proposed to arrange visits to industrial units also in the state. On October 9, 2017, this prestigious event was inaugurated after the arrival of foreign tourists, and in the same context, the tourists’ group was escorted for visiting Bhilai Steel Plant— it being the major industrial entity in the country.

This group of tourists of Indian origin, was accorded a warm welcome at Ispat Bhavan by CEO (BSP) M Ravi, where ED (P&A) M K Barman , ED (Works) T B Singh, ED (MM) Rita Banerjee, Director I/c (M&H S) Dr N K Thakur, ED (F&A) B P Nayak, and several other senior executives were present.
The visitors were apprised in detail about the process of steelmaking in Bhilai Steel Plant.

Soon after, the group of these tourist students was apprised about the functioning of Universal Rail Mill, including the process of long rails production. CEO (BSP) M Ravi was personally present at URM for answering the queries of foreign students.

DGM (PR) Vijay Mairal was also specifically present on this occasion along with the senior executives from URM.
