Food Safety officials swings into action ahead of festival

In view of festive season, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Department of Chhattisgarh has launched an intensive inspection drive to check adulteration in food stuff at hotels, restaurants and namkeen stores across the state.


As part of the drive initiated by the Commissioner, Food Safety, the officials in different groups, under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner Dr Ashwani Dewangan, inspected various hotels, restaurants and stores on Monday.


According to Dr Dewangan, samples were collected from restaurants and stores in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. They are Gokul Sweets (Raigarh), Ankit Dairy (Balod) and samples were also collected from Kanker, Gariabandh, Durg, Bhilai and Bajrang Hotel in Raipur. Motis Nine, Vimal Kirana Stores, Chaurasiya Sweets and Shri Jalaram Misthan Bhandar of Bhilai and Durg were inspected. The samples will be sent to laboratory for test and action will be taken if found adulteration, under the Food Safety and Standard Act, said Dr Dewanagn.
