RPF seizes 14 laptops, 4 projectors from train

The electronic gadgets were being smuggled to Allahabad

A consignment containing 14 laptops and four projectors was seized by the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Tuesday from Allahabad bound train. The electronic gadgets were being smuggled to Allahabad from Chennai.
Interestingly, a coach attendant of the AC compartments was the keyperson who was transporting the consignment for just Rs 1,000.

Sr. DSC, RPF, Central Railway, Jyotikumar Satija informed that three trolley bags, containing the gadgets, were hid in the rack of the B-4 coach. This rack is use to store linen for the passengers.

Acting on a tip-off, team of CIB conducted searches in the AC coaches of the 22352 Yeshvantpur-Patliputra train and discovered the bags in the rack. The RPF team arrested coach attendant Sushil Kumar for smuggling. Jyotikumar Satija also informed that the laptops were made of higher configuration and illegally transported to India probably via sea route by evading customs duty. The consignment was loaded at Chennai station in the train, he said.

The seizure was made by the PI CIB B D Ippar, SIPF Arun Thaware and staff including Sanjay Purkam, Kishor Choudhary, Vijay Patil, Nilkanth Gote and Dipak Wankhede.
