Guardian Minister assures aid to kin of pesticide poisoning victims

Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of district, paid a visit to the families of persons who had died due to accidental inhalation of pesticides. He assured the families that the Government would provide aid to them.


Bawankule paid a visit to the residence of Manikrao Sadashiv Shende from Kalmeshwar. Shende had died of accidental inhalation of pesticide. The Guardian Minister, accompanied by MLA Ashish Deshmukh, consoled Shende’s widow Vandana and son Vaibhav. Shende had died of pesticide inhalation during spraying in his farm at Pipla Rithi.


The Guardian Minister directed Dr Hansa Mohan, Tehsildar, to submit a proposal to the Government regarding aid to Shende family from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as well as Gopinath Munde Shetkari Apghat Vima Yojana. He directed the officials to register a case against pesticide seller concerned. The administration should prepare a proposal regarding extending benefits of various Government schemes to Shende’s widow Vandana, daughters Ujjwala, Priya, and Rina, and sons Vaibhav and Prashant.


Bawankule also paid a visit to the residence of Dhananjay Krishnaji Warokar, a resident of Khairgaon in Katol tehsil. He consoled Warokar family members. He asked the officials of Agriculture Department to create awareness among farmers regarding prevention of such incidents during pesticide spraying. Jagadish Nerulwar, Tehsil Agriculture Officer, informed the minister that Agriculture Department would extent benefits of various schemes to the affected family.


Dr Rajiv Potdar, District President of Bharatiya Janata Party; Arvind Gajbhiye, Sanjay Dekate, Kishor Revatkar, Prakash Warudkar, Prakash Tekade; Ukesh Chavan, Chairman of Finance Committee of Zilla Parishad; Smruti Ikhar also accompanied the Guardian Minister during the visits.
