The controversy surrounding recent visit of Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia to college of Mungawali in Ashok Nagar is yet to die down. On Thursday, State BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan made a scathing attack on Jyotiraditya Scindia, accusing him of stooping down to lowest level and said BJP will lodge a formal complaint with the Election Commission (EC) over the issue.

Addressing the press conference at BJP Headquarters, Chouhan said that in connivance with College Principal, Jyotiraditya Scindia organised his programme in college and this is highly objectionable. “We have no objection over the visit of elected representative to schools and colleges. But hoardings were put in college that Abki Bari Scindia Sarkar. The banners also have Congress symbol and this is an objectionable thing,” claimed Chouhan. He added that when District Incharge Minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya came to know about the development, he removed the concerned principal as he had violated the rules. However, the supporters of Scindia had allegedly attacked the house of Pawaiya in Gwalior at a time when Pawaiya is in Bhopal.

“Though there is no model code of conduct but election has been announced in Mungawali of Ashok Nagar. Hence, by holding the programme in college, Jyotiraditya Scindia had violated all traditions,” he said.

When asked that BJP too organises such kind of programmes in education institutions, he said “BJP never put up banners and its election symbol in education institutions,”. However, he could not reply to the question that if there is no model code of conduct in Ashok Nagar district then how did Jyotiraditya Scindia violated the election norms. In the meantime, Congress has reacted strongly over the removal of college principal and said that he was removed as he came from dalit background and this shows anti-dalit face of BJP.
