CM distributes Rs 312 cr paddy bonus to 1.61 lakh farmers

“Altogether 11 lakh families will be allocated houses under PM Housing Scheme in next five years by 2022”

Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new direction to the development in the country, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said while keeping in mind the
requirements of both urban and rural areas, the Prime Minister has launched and implemented such schemes which none had done earlier.

On the occasion of Bonus Festival at Raigarh district head-quarter and village Gadbeda (Pithora) in Mahasamund district, the Chief Minister observed these views while addressing massive public meetings at both places.

On the occasion the Chief Minister distributed Rs 312 crore digitally as paddy bonus to 1.61 lakh farmers in both districts. Accordingly, Rs 127.97 crore was distributed among 68,763 farmers in Raigarh while Rs 184 crore was distributed among 92,767 farmers in Mahasamund district. The Chief Minister also dedicated and laid foundation stone for 43 development works worth Rs 92.5 crore in Raigarh. He also distributed Rs 5.79 crore as grants to 7,451 beneficiaries under various government schemes. Similarly, in Mahasamund the Chief Minister dedicated and laid foundation stones for 58 development works worth Rs 212 crores.

On the occasion he also had lunch with farmers. Ahead of announcement of bonus, the Congress leaders were happy as they thought they have got at least something to corner his government but since the bonus has been announced the Congress leadership has gone berserk and lost their enthusiasm, said the Chief Minister. He said during Congress tenure, the farmers here had got nothing but exploitation. On the contrary during the last 14 years of BJP rule, several schemes for the upliftment and betterment of farmers and agriculture have been done.

The Chief Minister said altogether 11 lakh poor families will be allocated houses under Prime Minister Housing Scheme in next five years by 2022. He said 36 lakh families are being provided with free LPG connections along with double burner stove.

The Chief Minister took the opportunity to launch the first phase of Micro ATM service by connecting 97 primary cooperative societies in two districts Raigarh and Jashpur with the facility.
It is worth mentioning here that all 1333 primary cooperative societies in the state will be connected to
Micro ATM service.

Also six new branches of Apex Bank was inaugurated at Kharsia, Sarangarh, Baramkela and Dharamjaigarh in Raigarh and Pathalgaon and Jashpurnagar in Jashpur district. Present on the occasion were Union Minister of State for Steel Vishnudeo Sai, Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra, MP Chandulal Sahu, Parliamentary Secretaries Rupkumari Chaudhari and Suniti Rathia, MLAs Roshanlal Agrawal and Kerabai Manhar, Khallari MLA Chunnilal Sahu, Mahasamund MLA Dr Vimal Chopda and large number of public representatives and officials.
