Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this in a Ravan Dahan programme held at Chhola Dussehra Maidan here on Saturday.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that dignity and respect of women are supreme in Indian culture.
Disrespect towards women, corruption, terrorism and insanitation, etc. are characteristics of Ravan. We will have to discard anger, enchantment and arrogance. He extended greetings of Vijayadashmi to the citizens on the occasion and urged the people to follow the ideals of Shree Ram. Moreover, Chouhan stated that Bhopal city has bagged second position among the clean cities of the country last year.

Citizens will have to take resolve to make it number 1. At the outset, Chouhan welcomed Shree Ram Sena and performed puja-archana. Minister of State for Cooperatives Vishwas Sarang said that Vijayadashmi is a festival of victory of good over evil.

Take resolve to end social evils, he added. President Hindu Utsav Samiti Kailash Baigvani welcomed the guests and gave the welcome speech. Kailash Mishra also addressed the programme. Mayor Alok Sharma, office-bearers of Hindu Utsav Samiti and devotees in large number were present on the occasion.
