Deekshabhoomi to become world class tourist place: CM

Development works to upgrade facilities commensurate with world class tourism place would start at Deekshabhoomi as Maharashtra Government has approved the development plan, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Addressing the massive gathering at 61st Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebrations, Chief Minister further said that Babasaheb Ambedkar was not just a person but he symbolises a movement.


Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Ramdas Athawle, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Maharashtra Minister Rajkumar Badole, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Zilla Parishad President Nisha Sawarkar, Member of Parliament (MP) Krupal Tumane, MLAs Nana Shamkule, Dr Milin Mane, Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti President Bhadant Suruei Sasai, Secretary Sadanand Fulzele, Kamlatai Gavai, Anand Fulzele, Rajendra Gavai, Vilas Gajghate and others also were present.


Speaking further, Chief Minister hailed the contribution of Dr Ambedkar saying his role in laying the path for development of country is immeasurable. Stating him as a role model, Fadnavis announced that State Government has approved the development plan for Deekshabhoomi.
The Buddhist philosophy spread in entire world on basis of its message of peace and winning without fighting a war is its unique feature and the most progressive nation Japan is living testimony to Buddhism's spread.

He admitted to be influenced by the Tathaghat Buddha's philosophy and added Deekshabhoomi is a constant source of inspiration owing to fact that Dr Ambedkar embraced Buddhism here.


Chief Minister further said that Dr Ambedkar believed in imbibing scientific temper in the society and propagated what was good for society. A Rs. 100 crores plan for development of Buddhist circuit is being prepared by Government and underlined that Maharashtra Government goal is upliftment of last man in the society and we are committed to path shown by Dr Ambedkar.


Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that Dr Ambedkar laid great emphasis on equality, justice and fraternity and country can achieve progress by abiding these principles. He elaborated on ambitions River Interlinking project saying it would alter the course of development and catapult India into developed countries league and further whatever work we are doing and the progress we would achieve in future would be solely due to Dr Ambedkar. The teachings of Dr Ambedkar are continuously inspiring us in our endeavor and the true tributes to the legend would be to imbibe his ideas in society at large.


Ramdas Athawle, Union Minister, said that Dr Ambedkar idea have strengthened the country. We will pursue the demand to include Pali language in approved list of Indian languages. Mayor Nanda Jichkar said that thoughts of Dr Ambedkar even today have the potential to cause a revolution and said that NMC is trying to give a global look to Nagpur City.

Sadanand Fulzele hoped that Deekshabhoomi would see massive development in near future as stated by Chief Minister. Bhadant Suruei Sasai too addressed the gathering. The programme was conducted by Vilas Gajghate while Rajendra Gavai proposed a vote of thanks.
