ICAR distributes prizes of Hindi Fortnight

Director of Weed Research Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) organised prize distribution ceremony of Hindi fortnight started from September 14 and concluded on September 28. The concluding and prize distribution ceremony was organised in presence of chief guest Head of Journalism and Mass Communication Department, RDU Professor Dheerendra Pathak and special guest Rajesh Mishra.
Various Rajbhasha competitions were organised during the fortnight which included essay writing, calligraphy, ‘Tippan’, Alekhan’, debate competitions etc. Under encouragement scheme, four officers and employees were conferred first, second and third prizes for writing more than 20,000 words on merit basis by guests. Officers provided information about efforts made for publicity of Hindi during Hindi Fortnight.

Director of Directorate Dr P K Singh said that official works of directorate are conducted in Hindi and research papers translation is also being done in Hindi. He provided information about objectives of directorate. He congratulated all the winners and expressed well wishes.
Special guest Rajesh Mishra enthralled all the participants by presenting entertaining programmes.

Professor Pathak said that pure words are used in Hindi and recitation of word is according to what is written as such which is not done in other languages. System which was made constituently in past could not be implemented, as three language formula was executed. He also apprised about the movement conducted by Saint Vinoba for publicity of Hindi language and scholars of Hindi. He congratulated all the winners. Officers, employees and scientists participated in the programme with interest. Vasant Mishra proposed a vote of thanks.
