HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre holds art expo to support patients

HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre and HCG Foundation organised a very unique art exhibition at the Art Gallery of the hospital along with Swasti – The Contemporary Art Gallery to raise funds for cancer patients. This is one of the many activities done in the month of October to spread awareness on breast cancer. And thus the theme chosen for the event is ‘Pink spirit - 2017’. Well-known artists come together to create works of art that depicted the inner strength of women, supporting the
noble cause.


The fund generated through the event will be utilised to treat underprivileged breast cancer patients. The exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of renowned artist Chandrakant Channe. It will remain open every between 10 am and 6 pm till November end.


The HCG Foundation is a not-for- profit organization that has been set up under the guidance of Dr B S Ajaikumar in December 2006. Set up in Bangalore, Mysore, Gulbarga, Baroda and Ahmedabad.


The foundation believes that no one should be denied from quality treatments because of their socio-economic status or their inability to finance them. The foundation has helped over 3,500 patients since its inception.


Bhagya Ajaikumar – Director - Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery said, “I am very happy with the enormous support shown for this cause to improve the quality of care for cancer patients. This will help promote early awareness, detection, and research.”


Dr Suchitra Mehta - Director and Head of PsychoOncology - HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre said, “Cancer can be treated with a holistic medical approach.”
