Swachhata Jagrukta Evam Shramdan Pakhwada ends

Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Monday, organised a programme on conclusion of 15-day-long Swachhata Jagrukta Evam Shramdan Pakhwada at Manas Bhawan auditorium.
Owners of hospitals, schools, hotels, restaurants were felicitated on the occasion. Apart from that eight self help groups and 30 office bearers were also honoured for their valuable support during the fortnight.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare, Sharad Jain called upon masses to keep on extending support for fulfilling the dream of Swachh Bharat. He said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has initiated efforts for making the country clean. Accordingly, it the responsibility of each and every citizen to extend support in keeping the city clean.

Jain said cleanliness attracts success and prosperity, hence every citizen must ensure his participating in cleanliness drive of JMC so that we can make Jabalpur a cleanest city.
Expressing her views on the occasion, Mayor, Dr Swati Godbole said cleanliness is also the service to humanity. She said cleanliness brings prosperity. She urged people to keep their surroundings clean and aware others for the same. She on the occasion administered oath to people for extending support to the initiative taken by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Vice-President, Minority Finance Corporation, S K Muddin, Chairperson, JMC, Sumitra Balmeek and others also acclaimed the efforts being made by the civic body for keeping the city clean and green.

Earlier, the guests lit the lamp. Later, senior public representatives welcomed the guests. Thereafter, the guests felicitated as many as 68 sanitation workers by presenting them medal for their excellent work during the cleanliness fortnight.

Later, owners of schools, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, self help groups and public representatives were also honoured for their contribution to the drive.

Amongst those also present on the occasion were Mayor-in-Council member Shriram Shukla, Naveen Richharia, Rekha Thakur, Municipal Commissioner, Vedprakash and other senior officials.
