THE standard of travelling has undergone a sea change among the people. More people are preferring to travel by air to their favourite holiday destinations. This trend has set the air travel agents cash registers ringing.
“Most air travel agents are witnessing a surge in demand for air tickets by 15 per cent to 20 per cent compared to last year,” said Kishore Parate, Director of Flight Travel House while talking to The Hitavada.

Interestingly, there has been a gradual rise in air ticket bookings in both domestic and international flights from the city. “There is a boom in group tour bookings and honeymoon travellers,” he pointed out. The customised group tours are becoming a big hit among the professionals and retired people as the tour can be undertaken within a specified period and budget. About 70 per cent of the travellers are choosing package tours.
Similarly, honeymoon packages to exotic destinations are also mostly sought after by the newly wed couples during the wedding season.

During the winter season, most people prefer to travel to Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Odisha. And during the summer season, they prefer the northern states like Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh. The unrest in north
eastern states has deterred travelling to these states for the moment, he said.

In the international circuit, the most sought after holiday destinations are Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong in South East Asia. These places offer good accommodation, food and other services at affordable rates. The other destinations are Dubai, Europe and US. Eastern European countries like Russia and Croatia are also attracting a good number of travellers, he said.
International flights from the city has increased the number of travellers to foreign countries.

Parate said that air ticket agents that offer good products, prompt service and take care of clients needs are getting good business. Anup Ghumare, Manager of Cenin Travels said that the air ticket bookings is witnessing jump in demand of 20 per cent to 30 per cent in the city.
With more awareness and rising income levels the air ticket booking agents are witnessing a boom. People are booking air tickets in advance to destinations like Goa which happens to be one of the most preferred holiday destinations.

A lot of people are also showing interest in places like Puri, Konark, Kerala, Lakswadeep, Andoman and Nicobar islands during the winter season. “At Cenin Travels, we offer a unique and special travel experience to the customers. We offer high end services in both domestic and international bookings,” he said.

Group tour bookings has taken a fancy among the people with limited budgets. Most high net individuals prefer the travelling to Europe and US. There are also high end honeymoon packages to Mauritius and Europe.
Most lately, Bali and Cambodia have become favourite holiday destinations as they are offering good accommodation at affordable rates.
Central India has also become a hot wildlife travel destination for foreigners and people from Mumbai and Pune.

There are a large number of tourists coming from these places to Nagpur to visit wildlife sanctuaries. “We are also offering bus site seeing services accompanied by guide to heritage buildings and landmark places like Zero Mile in the city,” he added.

The air travel agents are doing good business as the number of air travellers are increasing day by day, he pointed out.
Travelling to far off places of interest has become one of the most important things people do to unwind, relax and get away from busy work lifestyles, he further said.
