Online system for IT firms eyeing Jabalpur

Ensuring hassle-free and streamlined procedure for approvals and allotments to companies coming to Jabalpur in the Information Technology Park and Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (ITP&EMC), the State Government has incepted on-line system from application to approval. In this process, the time limit has been set according to project size in the IT Park and EM Cluster.


It may be mentioned that the ITP&EMC at Jabalpur is being developed by the Madhya Pradesh Electronic Manufacturing Corporation, the nodal agency for Department of Science and Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh to bring this project on ground.


It may be mentioned that there is delay in setting up of Single Window System for investor companies showing interest to bring their ventures in Jabalpur. However, to bring IT park at operational level, the works like construction is being carried out on war footing, while the Department of Telecom has installed separate telecom lines for IT Park, power management and supply, etc. It has also committed to start as per demand to fulfill objectives of this new cluster. The Madhya Pradesh Electronic Manufacturing Corporation, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh and its consultants are working to materialise the inquiry, follow-up surveys conducted by different IT and electronic manufacturing companies from different parts of the country.


Ravi Gupta, President, Mahakoshal Chamber of Commerce and Industry opined that IT Park and EM Cluster would generate employment for youths coming out from technical and vocational colleges. It has wide scope of employment generation in service sector. In the new tax regime, the ‘One Tax One Nation’ concept has opened up new possibilities for the service providers as well as for manufacturers. Now distance for products and services delivery would matter for producer and service providers.
Jabalpur being located centrally in country has equal distance to all corners of the country. All the major business and industry centres of the country are situated nearly at an equal distance from this city.


In order to avail ongoing propositions after enactment of GST for investment for encouraging investors to see possibilities in city, there is need to reshape the current strategy to showcase potential. The Government is also equally focused on developing resources to attract major part of investment committed by various companies during launch of Digital India programme.


Project Head (Infrastructure Development), Jabalpur IT Park and Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, Pradeep Kumar Dixit, talking to ‘The Hitavada’, opined that with the start of online submission of applications, the applicant companies for the IT Park and EM Cluster would get easy and prompt services. He added, majority of applications and inquries are coming from IT sector. Companies dealing in BPO allied works, including KPOs and LPOs, are having demand of space at economical cost.


Dixit added that the after the surveys conducted by different companies on project feasibility from Jabalpur, now it is high time for this project as companies have to initiate works for selection of property and area in the cluster. Besides, talks with different IT and electronic manufacturers are also in progress, who are interested in investment in Jabalpur.
