Wildlife photo exhibition commences

Birds of Vidarbha and Government Art & Design College jointly organised a five-day Indian Wildlife Photo Exhibition at Kaladalan, Government Art & Design College, Laxminagar, that was inaugurated at the hands of Sachin Kurve, District Collector, on Tuesday.

The exhibition has been organised to mark ongoing Wildlife Week. The organisers had called online entries of pictures on wildlife from all over the country and received 1,200 entries. They selected 100 photographs and displayed in the exhibition that will remain open daily from 10 am to 7 pm till October 7.

Shailesh Balkawade, Superintendent of Police, Kadambari Balkawade, Chief Executive Officer, Nagpur Zilla Parishad, Dr S H Patil, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Gopalrao Thosar, senior environmentalist, and Ramesh Wadje, Dean of the college, were the guests of honour.

The guests had a look at the exhibits and appreciated all the photographs. G Mallikarjun, Deputy Conservator of Forest, made introductory remarks while Kundan Hate, Honorary Wildlife Warden, welcomed the guests. Kishor Ingle conducted the function in which a number of students took interest.

Mohan Dhere, Deputy Director, Social Forestry, Subhash Dongre, Information & Publicity Officer of Forest Department, Vijay Gangawane, Range Forest Officer, Seminary Hills, Vinit Arora, Sanjay Deshpande, Saurabh Sukhdeve, Avinash Londhe, Vyankatesh Mudliar, Nishad Meshram, Piyush Khadke, Hemant Deshpande, forest officers/employees and others were present on the occasion.
