Security tightened at Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Narsinghpur stations after bomb threat

A threat to blow up three railway stations, including Bhopal Junction, Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur, has been rumoured by unidentified caller to the Bhopal Railway Station Master and Hoshangabad Police on Wednesday.

A search by Bomb Detection team and Disposal Squad personnel and sniffer dogs it turned out to be a hoax call. Security has been tightened at stations and police is continuing searching of both stations. However, after checking both stations, there were no explosive or other suspected things.

According to IA Siddique, Public Relation Officer of West Central Railway, phone call was received by Bhopal Station Master and Hoshangabad Police to blow up the stations. After this call, RPF and GRP team raise an alert.” He further said dog squad team was also called at station to search the things. Siddique said, security agency and IT Cell is trying to track the call of person threatened to blow up stations. The team is trying to find out the person. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), officers and police force rushed to both stations after the anonymous call. It was the third of its kind call within six months. Railway Police officials said that some youngsters have made fund with this fake call. They said concern team is trying to track the call and identify the person.

GRP police officials said unknown person called and said that bomb is placed at all the three stations and phone was cut. Earlier, on May 26 and July 16 some unknown person called dial 100 and threatened to blow up the Bhopal and Habibganj stations. However, after searching for hours, Bomb Detection team, Disposal Squad personnel and sniffer dogs did not find anything.
