Over 110 kg plastic carry bags seized

The flying squad of Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) in a joint operation seized 110 kg of banned plastic carry bags from a middleman and a whole seller at Durg. As per information the BMC team officials raided a retailer Omprakash Kesharwani from Bhilai and seized 18 kg of banned plastics carry bags from his possession. Then they taking the number of the middle man who supplies him plastic carry bags contacted him as customer and reached Adarsh Nagar Durg and arrested Santosh Sinha the middle man and recovered seized around 40 kg of plastic bags from his possession.


Inhcarge Officer Counter, Ajay Shukla acting as customer contacted the Whole Seller and convinced him for giving huge stock of plastic carry bags as they need it for the forthcoming festival. Then at around 11.00 AM the BMC officials along with DMC officials reached the shop at Indira Market and seeing the officials the shopkeeper promptly denied of any such deal. Even the nearby businessmen and leaders came in his support. Ramanyan Singh of BMC went to his go-down and seized around 52 kg of plastic carry bags, but he refused to accept saying that it is old stock.


Later after giving proof by the officials of his mobile calls records those opposing accepted the fault of the shopkeeper and left. Finally the BMC officials prepared the inquest and seized the plastic carry bags.


Those present were Incharge Health Officer, RK Sahu, Incharge, Sahrad Dubey, Swaud Incharge, Ramanyan Singh, from BMC along with Incharge Health Officer, “Umesh Kumar Mishra, Market Incharge, Chandrakant Sharma, Shiv Sharma and PRO from DMC.
