Dr S P Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) hosted a two-day Industry-Academia Meet at its campus in Naya Raipur on Friday and Saturday. The theme for the meet was “Producing industry-ready professionals with industry-academia linkages”.
Mukesh Bansal, IAS, CEO, NRDA and I/c CEO, CHiPS was the chief guest during the inaugural function on 1st day of the event on Friday. Vivek Acharya, IFS, Director, Technical Education, Chhattisgarh was the chief guest during the inaugural function on 2nd day of the event.


Sujit Baksi, President, Corporate Affairs, Tech Mahindra & Chairman of IACA Committee, IIIT-Naya Raipur appreciated the initiative undertaken by IIIT-Naya Raipur.
Yudhisther Yadav, Head, Western Region, NASSCOM elaborated on the initiatives taken up by NASSCOM in the field of IT, ITeS and BPO sector. Vice Chancellor and Director of the Institute, Dr Pradeep Kumar Sinha, elaborated on the interaction of industry and academia and focused on the necessity of holding Industry Academia Meet to showcase the talent that is being groomed at IIIT-Naya Raipur. Dean (Academics), Prof O P Vyas elaborated on Fractal Academics and other key differentiators of academics at IIIT-Naya Raipur.


Dr Sudhakar Yernani, Director, Cray Supercomputers(India) Pvt. Ltd. talked about High Performance Computing and informed that they have built the India’s largest supercomputer at IISc Bangalore and are in the process of building still faster supercomputer which should be among top 100 fastest supercomputers in the world.


Narayanan Sundaresan, VP, Polaris FT encouraged students to be job creator as opportunities usually lie next to us. Biswadeep Biswas, Technical Director, KPMG gave presentation on various social initiatives of Government being implemented by KPMG.


Manish Agrawal, CEO, TechMent Technologies talked about student entrepreneurship and startup environment in India. Rajeev Roy, CEO, 36Inc told the pros and cons about being a job seeker and job creator. Ravi Vij, Head- Global Automation and Quality initiatives, Tech Mahindra gave insight about various initiatives taken by Tech Mahindra Business Services. Sumeet Gupta, Associate Professor, IIM-Ahmedabad also spoke on this occasion.


A M Parial, Advisor, Information Technology, NRDA and the panelists included Narendra Kumar (KPIT), Narayanan Sunderesan (Polaris), Yudhisther Yadav (NASSCOM), Dr Rajarshi Mahapatra, Associate Professor, IIIT-Naya Raipur and Prof B K Panigrahy, Registrar, IIIT-Naya Raipur, while Panel Discussion on Day 2 of the event was moderated by Ravi Vij (Tech Mahindra)and the panelists included Mr. SamitBarai (STM), Mr. Kishalaya (Internshala), Prof. Sumeet Gupta (IIM Raipur), JC Narayanappa (NTPC), Prof. B. K. Panigrahy (IIITNR). During the meet, the students of IIIT-Naya Raipur showcased their technical, research and other skills to the participants from industry.
