Caning incident: ABVP demands judicial probe

In protest of Friday’s lathicharge incident on ABVP office-bearers and students, a delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum addressing to the Collector and Deputy Inspector General of Police on Saturday.
ABVP's City Joint Secretary Sarvam Singh Rathore and Sachin Yadav informed that ABVP was staging peaceful protest to press for their demand for direct election of students’ union on Friday.

They added that forcing ABVP office-bearers to roll back their protest, Civil Line police resorted to caning.
Through the memorandum, ABVP office-bearers have demanded judicial inquiry over lathicharge done without permission of higher authorities by Civil Line SHO. They also demanded to immediately suspend the SHO, Civil Line. They mentioned that attack on the unarmed students was nothing more than violation of their constitutional rights. ABVP will not tolerate such injustice.If the authorities fail to initiate judicial inquiry on the incident, then they will start State-wide protest. Those present while submitting memorandum to the SDM addressing to the District Collector were Priyank Shandilya, Rohan Vaidhya, Manoj Yadav, Makhan Sharma, Parth Nareliya, Ayush Shukla, Saurabh Mishra and others.
