Members of the Passenger Amenities Committee of Railway Board also inpected Powerhouse station of Bhilainagar

Members of the Passenger Amenities Committee of the Railway Board of South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) Raipur division carried a detailed inspection of Durg Railway Station as well as Powerhouse station of Bhilainagar on Saturday accompanied by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of division, Tanmay Mukhopadhyay.

The members of the committee included Ramanand Tripathi, LR Nagwani, Dr. Ashok Tripathi and Manisha Chatterjee. The Committee formed by the Ministry of Railways is of the nature of Advisory Committee.
It studies, inspects and provides suggestion and recommendation to the concerned authorities on matters related to passenger amenities in railway premises.

During their inspection, the members visited the waiting rooms, foot over bridges, circulating area at the station, catering stalls, food plaza, rail aahar, concourse hall, platforms, computerized reservation office, enquiry office, etc, spoke with the passengers to understand more about the facilities required at the station and also took their valuable feedback.

The members expressed satisfaction with the overall facilities and cleanliness at the station and highly appreciated the
‘Heritage Gallery’ and installation of help counter as well as
tourist counter.

In Durg station, Chandrika Chandrakar, Mayor of Durg Municipal Corporation also joined them. They also suggested improvements in a few areas at the station such as improvement in edges of the platforms, providing chairs outside retiring rooms for the passengers and displaying the copy of agreement between Railways and the vendors at
refreshment stalls.
