Staff Reporter,

Police are allegedly inactive even after receiving complaint against three brothers who are builders and accused to be absconding after taking crores of rupees from several persons in the name of residential houses.

One of the victims has moved a complaint addressed to Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range, Pradeep Gupta. The complaint has been received at the IG office on September 1 this year. This victim, Pushpa Raikewar, resident of Jagdalpur, has maintained in the complaint that builders Rajeev Bhonsle, Rakesh Bhonsle and Rahul Bhonsle have cheated her. An hefty amount of Rs 31.50 lakh has been taken by them. Permanent arrest warrant against Rajeev Bhonsle is lying in Mujgahan police station. It is learnt that he is an eye-witness in a murder case, but the residential address given by Rajeev Bhonsle is now found to be a fake one. The victim has demanded FIR against the three brothers and two companies formed by them.

One of the victims Santosh Pandey in association with a number of other victims at a press conference in Raipur Press Club, on Sunday, informed, Rajeev Bhonsle, Rakesh Bhonsle and Rahul Bhonsle are brothers and the companies formed by them are named as Bhonsle Consultancy and Bhonsle Property India Pvt Ltd. These companies have taken crores of rupees from several people. The three brothers are now absconding and police is not registering case against them even after the victims approached to police.

A complaint has been moved to the Superintendent of Police, Raipur, added the victims while addressing media.
The office and residential addresses maintained by the said Bhonsle brothers are now found to be fake, the victims alleged. They also mentioned about the projects shown by the brothers, which included Raj Vatika, located at Borsi, Sai Dream Homes, located at Prasada in Patan tahsil, Durg district, Destiny Homes, located at Mujgahan and Future Homes located at Nardaha, Raipur.

According to the statements of the victims, Rs 31.5 lakh have been taken from Pushpa Raikwar in the name of house. From another victim Santosh Pandey, Rs 32 lakh were taken and later a cheque that was given to him was dishonoured. A case is registered under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which reads dishonour of cheque for insufficiency, etc., of funds in the account. Even when the arrest warrant has been issued, one of the accused remains out of the reach of police. Likewise, they also mentioned categorically about other victims and hefty amount of money taken from them.

From Santram, Brijbhushan, Prabhashankar Tiwari, Keshav Prasad Sahu, Dileep Kumar Patre and from Pradeep Kumar Pandey, Rs 21 lakh, Rs 5.60 lakh, Rs 6.80 lakh, Rs 6.12 lakh, Rs 13.47 lakh and Rs 3.50 lakh have been taken, the victims alleged.

When asked when the victims are from different parts of the State then why Raipur police stations are being approached for action? The victims stated jointly that the office addresses of the said companies of Bhonsles are in Raipur. The victims were learnt to be ignorant of the legal provision that in case any police station does not respond to genuine complaint, then the court of law can be approached.

When contacted, Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range, Pradeep Gupta, informed that all the complaints received at his office are directed to concerned Superintendents of Police as a routine process for taking appropriate action. The IG expressed the hope that the complaint moved by the victim Pushpa Raikewar might have been directed from his office to Raipur SP for action. On receipt of any complaint, the Police take action depending upon merit of the matter, the IG said.
