India’s present shape an outcome of Sardar Patel’s efforts: CM Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday administered oath to citizens of national unity on the occasion of the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary is being celebrated as National Unity Day in the entire country. People in all the districts paid tributes to Sardar Patel remembering his contribution. The State Mantralaya officers, employees, local citizens and students were administered oath by the Chief Minister to maintain national unity, integrity and security. He remembered Sardar Patel.

In his address, Chouhan said that the present form of India is due to the undaunted efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He has made the unforgettable contribution for merging 500 princely states in India. Chouhan said that had the then Prime Minister Late Jawaharlal Nehru entrusted the Jammu-Kashmir case to Sardar Patel then, today the Pak Occupied Kashmir would have been a part of India. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Sardar Patel compelled merger of estates of Bhopal, Hyderabad and Junagarh in India. He said that efforts to destroy unity and integrity of the country will not be tolerated and will be given a befitting reply. He said today’s India is not like the India of 1962. Today India is a strong and capable country. Today the country can enter the border of Pakistan and conduct a surgical strike and can even force Chinese Army to withdraw. Among those present on the occasion were Minister of State for Co-operatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang, MP Alok Sanjar, MLA Surendranath Singh and Rameshwar Sharma, Mayor Alok Sharma and a large number of elite citizens were present.
