3 men involved in several incidents in police net

A COMBINED team of Crime Branch and Sihora police succeeded in apprehending three thieves involved in theft incidents in Katni, Sihora, Umaria and Damoh. Police have recovered stolen silver jewellery and equipment used in these incidents. The accused have been identified as Phoolchandra Kushwaha (50), son of Mandhari Kushwaha, a resident of Jhinjhri village in Katni, Deepak Vishwakarma (23), son of Ballu Vishwakarma, resident of Kailwara in Katni and Arun Patel (40), son of Phoolchandra Patel, a resident of Vijayraogarh. Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Sandeep Mishra disclosed this while addressing a press conference on Thursday.

Under direction of Superintendent of Police Shashikant Shukla, police have started a special campaign against listed criminals and history-sheeters to collect information about their current occupation. Additional SP, Crime Branch, Sandeep Mishra informed that during the campaign Crime Branch received information about three suspected men. Acting promptly on the information, a combined team of Crime Branch and Sihora police started search and succeeded in detaining suspected men.

Police team recovered equipment used in break-in incidents. After rigorous interrogation, the accused broke out and confessed several theft incidents in Bargi village and New Bus Stand in Sihora. On their identification, police have recovered silver jewellery stolen from residence of Ajay Thakur in village Bargi and Sunil Kumar Jain, resident of New Bus Stand. Besides this, thieves revealed several other theft incidents in Sihora, Katni, Damoh and Umaria districts.

ASP, Sandeep Mishra informed that efforts are being made to take accused on remand for further investigations in several other unsolved crime cases. The accused were apprehended with active working of Crime Branch team comprising SI, Abhilash Mishra, constables, Rajesh Pandey, Sunil Pardhi, Prem Vishwakarma, Akhilesh Yadav, Ajay Jain, Rajesh Kewat and Sihora police station’s SI, Brijendra Tiwari, ASI, Umlesh Tiwari, Constables, Vinay and Amit.
