Bhopal under thick security cover for President Kovind’s visit today

Tight security arrangements have been made for Friday’s visit of President Ram Nath Kovind. Cops have intensified the vehicle checking campaign and a thick security blanket has been thrown at the venue, where Ram Nath Kovind will attend the programme. President Ram Nath Kovind will participate in two programmes in city on Friday. He will address Kabir Prakatosava at Lal Parade Ground. Besides this, he will also pay tribute at the statue of Rani Jhalkaribai at GTB Complex at TT Nagar. This will be his first visit after assuming the office of President. Cops are guarding all the main squares of the city. Security has been enhanced on the route, which will be used by President’s cavalcade on Friday.

Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, IG Jaideep Prasad said that water-tight security arrangements have been made for the proposed visit of President Ram Nath Kovind. SP-level officers have been made incharges in all sectors. Extra force of 1,500 jawans has also been deployed to ensure tight security arrangements.

Traffic has been planned in such a manner that commoners are affected in minimum manner. The traffic will remain diverted only on that route which will be used by President’s cavalcade and this traffic diversion will be for limited period so that people face least inconvenience.

At Lal Parade Ground, huge tent has been erected and sitting arrangements has been made for thousands of people. Along with this, there is proper drinking water arrangement and temporary toilet facility. The people will be made to enter at venue place only after passing through security checks. Numerous cops are guarding the Lal Parade Ground from past few days.

Last time, Ram Nath Kovind came to State capital when he was candidate for President’s post and at that time, he came to seek support from BJP’s MLAs and MPs. But after becoming President of India, this is his first visit to Bhopal.
