HNLU students have an inspiring interaction with legal luminaries

The Student Bar Association of Hidayatullah National Law University, Naya Raipur, under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Sukh Pal Singh successfully organised an interactive session with notable legal luminaries.The legal luminaries included K V Viswanathan (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), A K Samantray (Presiding Officer Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authority), A K Panda (Judicial Member Chhattisgarh Arbitration Tribunal and Secretary, Chhattisgarh Law Commission), and Pallav Mongia (Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India).

The first session was addressed by Senior Advocate K V Viswanathan, who was heavily inclined towards Academia, he touched upon his life in the profession of law, reminiscing the lessons he learned throughout. The second session was addressed by A K Samantaray who gave the students an insider’s perspective and his views on All India District Judges Recruitment Examination. The penultimate session was held by A K Panda who dealt with the nuances of the preparations for the Judicial Services Examination with the students. The concluding session was chaired by Pallav Mongia who touched upon his experiences of law school, his career in litigation and the challenges faced by first generation lawyers. The interaction concluded with an open question-answer session wherein the guests answered the various queries posed by the students.

The HNLU family, on Friday also observed the annual Ananya Mahapatra Diwas, which celebrates the unflagging efforts of the support staff, consisting of a huge force of the workers engaged in security, mess and cleanliness along with back office and hostel staff of Hidayatullah National Law University providing them a happy little window of escape from their tiring routine.

A light hearted function was held for their entertainment to connect with them socially and emotionally, and most importantly, make them aware of their instrumental and crucial role in the institution’s sound operations. It was reiterated that the support staff, deserves heaps of appreciation and that too a declarative appreciation, not just in gesture. Each worker was rewarded for their earnest services.
