Rubina representing India clinched gold medal in 10 metre air pistol team event in World Cup

Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy shooter Rubina Francis has created history by clinching gold medal in World Shooting Para Sport. In this regard, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia informed that MP Shooting Academy shooters excelled in World Shooting Para Sport World Cup being organised at Bangkok, Thailand, from November 10.


Rubina representing India clinched gold medal in 10 metre air pistol team event in World Cup. Moreover, India ranked first with the performance of Rubina’s 355 points, Puja Agrawal’s 358 points and Sonia Sharma’s 357 points, total 1070 points. Thailand remained second securing 1048 points.


Physically challenged Rubina belonging to Jabalpur and was selected in Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy in July 2017. She is top ranking shooter in physically challenged category. Rubina was selected under Target Olympiad Podium Yojana of Government of India in which the best players of country are given scholarship Rs 50000 per month.
