Humara Bachpan volunteers become true ambassadors of Swachhta Abhiyan

“CHILD leaders of Humara Bachpan organisation are working as ambassadors of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. With an aim to inculcate cleanliness as a habit and routine amongst residents, child leaders of Humara Bachpan conducted a rigorous cleanliness drive in their neighborhood.


Along with creating public awareness with the theme of ‘Clear Neighbourhood’ the child leaders have also proposed children friendly development works in ongoing development projects to provide better environment to children,” informed Shivkumar Choudhary, City Co-ordinator, Humara Bachpan, while addressing a press conference on Sunday. He added that the team of child leaders comprised 85 women, 229 children and 34 youngsters.


They conducted Swachhta audit in 14 slum areas of the city. In order to spread the message of Swachhta in every corner of the city, teams organised street plays, rallies, programmes for students in different schools and local level public meetings were organised during two months of the campaign.
Addressing the press conference, some child leaders including Mahima Pal, Sarika Prajapati, Kumkum Choudhary, Abhay
Choudhary, Kajal Choudhary, Satyam Saket, Preeti Kushwaha, Devraj Choudhary, Muskan Gupta and others informed about recommendations of their teams to provide children friendly facilities i.e. toilets and bathrooms should be constructed pointing out convenience of children, municipal corporation should also ensure regular cleaning of community toilets, shared toilets should be connected to sewage system, municipal authorities should take prompt action on ensuring availability of toilets at every single household, separate garbage should be placed in every slum, improvement in drainage system and regular health monitoring to prevent outbreak of epidemics.
