Adi Guru Shankaracharya deserves credit for cultural unity of India: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Adi Guru Shankaracharya deserves the credit of keeping India culturally united. For installing his huge statue in Omkareshwar, Adi Guru Ekatma Yatra will begin on December 19. Soil from each village will be brought in a kalash during the yatra which will continue for 32 days. This soil will be used to build the base of the statue. CM Chouhan was addressing a meeting related to Adi Guru Ekatma Yatra at the State Jan Abhiyan Parishad office.

CM Chouhan said that Adi Guru Shankaracharya met his Guru at State’s tourist spot Omkareshwar and it was here he created the Narmadashtak. From here he proceeded on his Yatra to tell the whole of India about Principle of Advaitwad. He established the four pilgrimages (char dham) to keep India culturally united. This yatra will take his principles to people. His huge statue will be set up in Omkareshwar and his creations displaying his personality and ‘Jivan Darshan’ will be built. Every village will contribute in the construction of the statue. Seers will lead the four separate yatras. The statue will be built using the metal brought from the villages in the kalash.

It was told at the meeting that the route chart of the yatra has been decided. The yatra will be finalized after detailed discussion during the meeting. This yatra will begin on December 19 and will continue till January 22. The incharge of the yatra have been made. State Mineral Development Corporation’s Chairman Shiv Choubey, Jan Abhiyan Parishad’s Vice Chairman Raghavendra Gautam, Pradeep Pandey and all district co-odinators were present.
