Man booked for stabbing auto driver

A case of stabbing was registered at Gohalpur police station after medical staff from the District Hospital informed police about the victim admitted in the hospital Sunday night around 1.30 am. The injured, who happens to be autorickshaw driver, was assaulted by Vijay Chaudhary, having old animosity. According to information, a case of stabbing was registered at Gohalpur police station on Sunday night around 1.30 am. The medical staff of District Hospital called upon police after the injured named as Vikas Koshta (22) was admitted in the hospital in wounded state.

On being informed, cops reached the hospital and recorded the statement of the injured undergoing treatment. The injured, in his statement given to police, stated while he returning back home on Sunday night around 11.30 pm, he was intercepted by Vijay Chaudhary having old animosity. The miscreant, having stopped him, indulged in verbal abuse that was opposed by the injured. The resistance offered by the injured made the accused angry, who in possession with some sharp-edged weapon, assaulted him causing serious wound below knee, resulting in excessive bleeding from the wound occurred.

Having assaulted, the miscreant managed to flee from the spot, leaving the injured desolate, who was noticed by colony people after he screamed for help. Colony people who reached the spot took him to District Hospital and was admitted. In view of the statement recorded, police registered case under Section 294, 323, 506 of IPC against the accused named by the injured in the case diary. A search has been launched to apprehend the absconding accused, who still remains beyond the reach of the police. At the District Hospital, the injured undergoing treatment is reported to be stable and is recuperating.
